(Minneapolis) -August 15- Today is the wonderful feast day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven which gives us much hope!
In Today's Catholic World is posting a letter to the Editor regarding TCW's July 23rd and 30th posts on the "911 plot" and the everyday more vacillating "Catholic Actor" Mel Gibson (posted on Aug 8th -scroll down to see this post -TCW):

Dear Editor of TCW,

We spoke on the phone months ago. I am the "East Coast" lady. I'm sure you noticed that after the defeat of Joseph Lieberman we immediately had a "foiled terror plot". We spoke of Mel Gibson (i.e. his scandalous actions last March 2005 on the Leno show- The Editor) and the life changing events in NYC. I read your post about confronting your "Senator". God Bless you for your courage and for your work to get the truth out to our beloved Church in exile. Our Congress is so very infiltrated and compromised. So is the media. I would like to speak with you again.

Dear Agnes:

Hello. You are ahead of the majority in understanding what is behind the political maneuvering across "our" airwaves today. A few quick notes:

Joseph Lieberman (a Jew): is also a member of the Freemasonic cult Skull and Bones - truly one would be hard pressed to find a more "credentialed" enemy of Christ the King and Catholic Order.

Regarding the "foiled terror plot": I had to fly out to L.A. on August 10 (the day CNN "the Jewish Media" broadcasted "the plot" to the Universe) It was a unique sight seeing multiple military personnel in full army fatigues with guard dogs and machine guns. (My mind went to the amount of tax dollars being spent on this "show" of strength.) I was commanded to toss my toothpaste, shampoo, etc., into a guarded trash can, in the ongoing effort to "protect my freedom" from being taken by "Al Queda cells" in the mostly German and Norwegian populated suburbs of Minneapolis... knowing what is really behind all of this (Judeo-Masonry) I took many mental notes and was more concerned about in L.A. where I could refill my "dop travel kit" then I was about a "seemingly imminent" terrorist attack with a container of hand lotion, a piece of dental floss or stick of chewing gum.

Regarding Mel Gibson: I pray for this man and remember a letter I received from Mel Gibson's father- Hutton Gibson - on 12/06/05 where he was claiming his "second son" had "beaten them" (the Jews) with his movie (that I have never watched). Mel Gibson capitulated by taking out the English *words in the Passion Movie spoken by the faithless Jews (and recorded in Catholic Scripture), which is the creed of the unfaithful perfidious Jewish Nation and "religion" today and for all time: And the whole people answering, said: "His blood be upon us and upon our children." (Matthew xxvii.25) Now Hutton Gibson's second son (Mel) is ready to win more smashing "victories" by reaching out to the haughty Assassins of Christ... groveling for their "support"?

By January of 1793, the Vendee resistance began in earnest. Shortly thereafter, the resistance grew into local armies. There were four main bodies that eventually grew into what was known as The Grand Catholic and Royal Army. 70,000 men strong, it took for its uniform the Rosary worn around the neck, and the a red heart surmounted by a cross sewn to their native clothing. This of course, represented the Sacred heart of Jesus.

In both cases he has moved from a position of truth. I would urge him to labor as a member of the Church Militant where he could direct his talents in memorializing and venerating real blood- the blood of Catholic martyrs such as those who suffered in their fight for Christ the King during the French Revolution."

Agnes, of course there is no middle ground in this combat. As Sr. Lucy the seer at Fatima said in an interview in 1957 A.D., one year before the usurpation of the Papacy from "Cardinal Siri" (a.k.a Pope Gregory XVII) by the Freemasonic agent Angelo Roncalli (a.k.a Antipope John XXIII):

"... the devil is in the mood for engaging in a decisive battle against the Virgin. And a decisive battle is the final battle where one side will be victorious and the other side will suffer defeat. (Minneapolis) -August 8- TCW is posting commentary on the unfortunate Mel Gibson recent scandal in Malibu, CA and also a section regarding the mortal sin of drunkenness that draws from the writings and sayings of St. John Vianney, the Cure D' Ars called: On Drinking and Taverns.

The recent public scandal out West-of Mel Gibson-must be looked at through the proper Catholic perspective. Yes, we are all sinners (who are called to perfection on this earth), but the preferential treatment (enabling) by law "enforcement" officers and/or also by the misguided "adoring" public (which sadly in the past and present includes many flattering "Catholic" "yes men") is unjust and helps no one, least of all Mr. Gibson.

Mel Gibson publicly blasphemed Christ on March 9, 2005 A.D., before millions on the Jay Leno Show, with virtually no public, or for that matter (True Catholic) outcry in the least! Will this “hope of the Church” ever apologize for this crime against Our Blessed Lord?

TCW 's  motto, which  is: Uncompromising Catholic Militancy,  took the "unpopular" stance last February against the public scandal Mel Gibson when it wrote the following on 02/05/06:

Again, Mel Gibson's public scandalous sins on the Jay Leno, etc... television "entertainment" shows were never, at least publicly, addressed by the famous "Catholic" M.G. He and his P.R. team never scrambled to release a written statement to the media (or True Catholics) saying that he was indeed sorry that he had scandalized millions of souls on those repulsive shows. This really gets to the core issue for those who can get past the glare of the stars (meteors?) of the world.

Mel Gibson's new movie called Apocalypto must be avoided by the Catholic Faithful for its incontrovertible Sins against Modesty.

Our Lady of Fatima's words to the little seer Jacinta Marto: "More souls go to Hell because of sins of the flesh than for any other reason."

The Editor and staff of TCW pray that Mr. Gibson "gets it together". For In Today's Catholic World to change its "uncharitable", "harsh tone" against this unrepentant public mockery of a Catholic (Mel Gibson), some very tangible signs would be, that he:

Immediately stop his good-will publicity campaign with Christ's sworn enemies.

Drastically re-edit and/or cancel the release of his new movie Apocalypto: that as stated above violates Catholic teaching on the Virtue of Modesty. This could be done with one speed dial from M.G.

Note Gibson has attempted to throw the tired secular sophism out there of calling the mortal sin of drunkenness a "disease". The Editor of TCW as of yet has not come across one line from M.G.'s PR machine mentioning that "possibly" avoiding near occasions of sin - could help - "cure" him?

Yes indeed, the Catholic Church teaches - to avoid the occasions of sin (which every Catholic promises before God when they confess their sins to a priest in the sacrament of Penance) is the prerequisite step in attempting to win the victory against the world the flesh and the devil. The following information/examples below, drawn from the immutable Faith, show how grave the transgression against the cardinal virtue of temperance (in this case the Sin of Drunkeness) is:

From the Life of St. Monica as related by Fr. Butler:

The young Monica contracted insensibly an inclination to wine: and when she was sent by her parents, who were strangers to it, to draw wine for the use of the family, in taking liquor out of a cup, she would put her lips to it an sip a little. This she did at first, not out of any intemperate desire of liquor, but from mere youth and levity. However, by adding to this little every day a little more, she overcame the original reluctance she had to wine, and drank whole cups with pleasure, as it came in her way.

This was a most dangerous intemperance, though it never proceeded to any considerable excess (a.). God watched over his servant (Monica) to correct her of it, and made use of a servant maid (who observed Monica's behavior and providently) reproached her with it, calling her a wine-bibber. This affected Monica in such a manner, that, entering seriously into herself, she acknowledged, condemned and from that moment entirely corrected her fault. She after this received baptism, from which time she lived always in such a manner, that she was an odour of edification to all who knew her.

(a.) It is a notorious mistake, and misrepresentation, to call this fault the crime of drunkenness, though such a habit insensibly paves the way to the utmost excesses: and this danger of a saint ought to be powerful warning to deter all persons, especially servants and young people, from a like custom of sipping, how insignificant and trifling soever the first steps towards it may appear. If Monica was awakened before she was brought to the brink of the precipice, this was the effect of a singular grace; and where she repented thousands perish, and regardless of every evil present and future, become the murderers of their bodies, their reason, the fortunes of their family and their immortal souls. This destroying evil arises from small beginnings neglected. See Dom Martenne in his learned and judicious note on this passage in the late French translation of the Confessions of St. Austin. On Drinking and Taverns

(Note: much of the content below is from St. John Vianney, also known as the Curé of Ars)

Drunkenness is a great sin. It is a disgrace in the eyes of men. The conversion of the habitual drunkard is difficult. Many people are prone to make light of this vice and excuse the same. We will attempt to show the enormity of this vice and the folly to make excuses for it.

It is beyond the power of mortal man to describe the full extent of the havoc wrought by this vice. Probably because it is so widespread, there is too much tolerance for this evil. We cannot be indifferent to the loss of good name, health and most of all, the loss of salvation for the unreformed drunkard. The Holy Ghost tells us the drunkard should learn moderation from the beasts. What a disgrace to human nature if the beasts are held to us as examples. This sin of alcoholism does not abate with advancing age. Drunkards are not easily reformed. The Council of Mayence holds that the drunkard transgresses all the ten Commandments.

St. Paul in the Catholic Scriptures, assures us that the drunkard will not enter into the kingdom of heaven; drunkenness, therefore, must be a great sin. Some would use the excuse that alcoholism is a disease. If drinking is a disease:

The Destructive Sin of Drunkenness

1. It is the only disease contracted by an act of the will.
2. It is the only disease that requires a license to propagate it.
3. It is the only disease that is bottled and sold.
4. It is the only disease that requires outlets to spread it.
5. It is the only disease that produces revenue for the government.
6. It is the only disease that is habit forming.
7. It is the only disease that produces crime.
8. It is the only disease that is permitted to be spread by advertising.
9. It is the only disease without a germ or virus and for which there is no corrective medicine.
10. It is the only disease that will condemn you to eternal separation from God in Hell. (Gal. 5:21)

Let us consider what St. John Vianney had to say about taverns: "Was it not in those houses that dancers congregated and men forgot their duty?" He tackled this enemy from the outset, nor did a holy indignation allow him to mince his words. He made his own the phraseology of St. John Climacus, in order to strike the harder: "The tavern," he exclaimed, "is the devil's own shop, the school where hell retails its dogmas, the market where souls are bartered, the place where families are broken up, where health is undermined, where quarrels are started and murders committed."

"The innkeepers", he used to say, "steal the bread of a poor woman and her children by selling wine to drunkards who spend on Sunday what they have earned during the week. If he wishes to escape eternal damnation, a priest may not and cannot absolve innkeepers who, either at night or during church hours, serve those drunkards wine."

Common Drunkards

The ruthless struggle of St. John Vianney against the taverns was successful as they were all closed down in his parish. This yielded some unexpected results. The plague of pauperism abated. "There were very few destitute persons at Ars itself." says M. Pertinand, the schoolmaster; "by suppressing the taverns, M. le Cure had eliminated the main cause of poverty."

M. Vianney knew that God was blasphemed in the taverns. For a soul penetrated with such profound reverence for the holy Name, the mere thought of such a thing was unbearable. And yet he experienced the sorrow "of hearing blasphemies issuing from the mouths of the village children who scarcely knew the Lord's Prayer." So successful was the Saint's campaign against cursing and swearing that even expressions that were merely coarse – he did not shrink from mentioning them in the pulpit – gradually vanished from the vocabulary of the people of Ars. In their place, they would recite the Lord's Prayer, the Hail Mary, or formulas such as "How good God is! Blessed be God!"

Titus Joslin's wonderful book on the Blessed Virgin Mary titled, The Life of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God 1859 A.D., to help encourage the True Faithful to persevere; always remembering Our Lady's promise that she gave us at Fatima, that her Immaculate Heart will Triumph!

What it is to have Confidence in Our Lady

St. Ephrem, quoted by St. Alphonsus Liguori, calls devotion to Our Lady "the passport of escape from Hell." (1.) God gives the love of the Blessed Virgin to those whom he wishes to save. (2.) Mary is neither wanting in the power nor the will to save us. (3.) The prophet David prayed to be rescued from hell, for the honor in which he held Mary: "I have loved, O Lord, the beauty of thy house; take not away my soul with the wicked." Mary was the house, and Eternal Wisdom built her for himself. "He will not be lost," says St. Anselm, "for whom Mary has prayed but once." Enough has been said to convince the Catholic reader of the immense efficacy of the Virgin Mother's prayer. "Having this seal, the Lord knoweth who are His." (4.)

Our Lady Our Hope

"Ah! if our Blessed Lady be for us, who can be against us?" -Fr. Titus Joslin

Read the Glories of Mary, dear reader, if you look for an abundance of examples; where you will find that even one Hail Mary, preserved in every day, never went unrewarded.... How many souls are famishing for the want of a little wholesome encouragement! And what encouragement like that which the knowledge of the Virgin Mary's power and compassion affords? Does not the Holy Church call her our hope, a title which it has already been shown is no exaggeration, but which she most justly deserves? ... Never fear. If they [sinners] begin to love Mary she will pray for them and the Holy Ghost will enlighten them, and under the glare of a ray of that light sin will appear hideous, and seen once in its true color, which is darkness, will not easily be forgotten. True of sin and the sinner, the same remarks are true also of error and souls held deluded in the wiles of false doctrine and untruth. Let them invoke the Mother of God, and she will obtain their conversion, and find a place for them in that Church which her adorable Son established, and for the love of which He was prodigal of His own Heart's blood.
