“Prayer…is so useful and necessary that without it we could not come to any good,
seeing that by means of prayer we are shown how to perform all our actions well.”
(St. Francis de Sales, Doctor of the Church)
READER OF IN TODAY'S CATHOLIC WORLD SUBMITS PIECE ON CATHOLIC PRAYER

(TCW)
(Near Charleston, SC) - Oct 17- A True Catholic forwarded TCW's Editor a wonderful piece, they wrote themselves, on the
necessity of prayer; asking to remain anonymous. This brief treatise on prayer submitted by a True Catholic of the Church in Eclipse, highlights what St. Frances De Sales calls vital, vocal, and mental prayer. Today (Oct. 17th) on the feast day of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque who was so instrumental in spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart, (TCW) presents this excellent piece to its readers hoping to encourage them to persevere in prayer in a continual deeper union with the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The Necessity of an Ordered Prayer Life for Every Catholic Soul
In this treacherous and Godless world we live in, we may well wonder how it is possible to maintain a prayer life and to seek to live in unity with Christ, while corruption and immorality run rampant in all corners. We see pictures and hear stories of long ago when priests were recognizable in their cassocks, nuns in full habit were aiding souls in hospitals and schools, confession lines were long and satisfied by the presence of good, holy priests thirsting to bring countless souls to God.
It seems now, though, that we are left alone to work out our salvation in fear and trembling. We can search far and wide for spiritual direction, yet scarcely find one priest who still holds the true Faith. Rather, the world is saturated with liberalism and modernism. The only thing that seems to be intolerable in this world is traditional Catholicism. It seems, also, that we are left to books and a sort of “do it yourself” program to developing a prayer life.
Be of good cheer, though, my friends! Did not our precious Lord and Savior Himself promise that He would be with us until the end of the world? Our faith will be tried and tested over and over again, but we must always remember that Our Lord, Jesus Christ is always with us. The more we are able to empty ourselves of the world and its vanities and false securities, the more room we have leave in our souls to be occupied by this Divine Guest. We must equip ourselves, then, for combat. This we are able to do by prayer. As Our Lord bade Peter, James and John in the Garden of Gethsemane, we must watch and pray, lest we become prey to the enemy.
Though prayer can sometimes be difficult and extremely trying, truly nothing is simpler than prayer itself. God, who is all knowing, is well aware of the struggles a soul undergoes in striving towards union with Him. He knows the soul’s disposition, and He knows the frailty of human nature. He does not require that our prayer be perfect and that we never have distractions; rather, it is our will that He asks be turned over to Him, and this is where a true life of prayer begins. “The principal petition which we ought to make to God is that of union of our wills with His, and the final cause of prayer lies in desiring only God. Union with God consists in conforming our will to His.” (St. Francis de Sales)
St. Francis de Sales tells us that there are three things necessary to praying well: to be little by humility, to have great hope, and to be conformed to Jesus Christ crucified. First, in order to pray well, we must acknowledge that we are very poor, and we must humble ourselves greatly, becoming fully aware of our nothingness. David admonishes us that the lower we plunge ourselves into the contemplation of our nothingness, the more easily will our prayer rise up to heaven. (Cf. Ps. 130:1-2, Sir. 35:21)
Hope is also a necessary condition to praying well. Hope is pleasant, since it promises that we shall one day possess what we long for. It is also bitter, because we are not now enjoying what we love. It is necessary, then, that hope be placed upon charity, lest it become no longer hope but, rather, presumption. If we want our prayer to reach heaven, it must be founded upon love.
Finally, in order to pray well, we must conform ourselves to Christ crucified. While hanging from the Cross, our Savior offered His prayers to the Father for us. We must, then, remain at the foot of the Cross and never depart from there, so that we may be saturated with the Blood which flows from it. We should, at the very minimum, be bathed in this Blood at our first prayer in the morning, placing ourselves at the foot of the Cross and offering our every thought, word, and action to our crucified Savior. We must ask Him to aid us in keeping before our minds the awareness of His Passion, and that we carry our Cross each day next to Him, that we may be conformed to His likeness.

St. Frances De Sales Teaches there are Three Types of Prayer:
1. Vital Prayer  2. Vocal Prayer  3. Mental Prayer
Having satisfied these necessary conditions, there are three types of prayer which St. Francis de Sales teaches: vital prayer, vocal prayer, and mental prayer. Each and every action performed by those who live in the holy fear of God is a continual prayer. This is called vital prayer. Vital prayer comes simply in the form of performing the daily duties of our state in life for the greater honor and glory of God. He is pleased to accept them all, even our shortcomings and infirmities. We need only offer them up to Him when first we wake in the morning, and then throughout the day. Those who perform the corporal works of mercy such as visiting the sick, giving to the poor, and praying for the conversion of sinners and the souls in purgatory, are praying, and these actions do not go unnoticed by our Heavenly Father.
Vocal prayer is, simply put, speaking to God. We ought to have a daily routine of vocal prayer consisting of, at minimum, morning prayers and evening prayers said kneeling before the Crucifix. Ought we not on bended knee to make Our Lord the object of both our first and our last thoughts of the day? In the morning, we should offer all we are to do and to endure in the day to Him. Likewise, at night, we ought to thank Him for the graces given to us throughout the day, recite the Confiteor for our failings, and ask His refuge and protection through the night. Each day, as we begin anew in His service, we must remember to ask for the graces never to offend him and to accept whatever crosses may be sent our way. Our Lord’s first thoughts in the stable at Bethlehem were of His love for mankind whom He desired to redeem, and His final thoughts on Calvary were also of His great love for us. His life was a continual offering of Love for us. Should we not offer love for Love?
We can also approach our Lord through mental prayer. Although sometimes difficult and filled with distractions, we are all quite capable of it. Once we have offered our distractions to God and have resolved to persevere through even the worst of distractions, we can be assured that our prayers will be accepted by Him with even more value than if they had come quite easily with no distractions at all!
St. Ignatius of Loyola has provided a great method of meditation that even beginners may successfully implement into their spiritual lives. We need only take a mystery, for example Our Lord’s Agony. Having pictured Our Lord thus, we then consider His virtues such as His total resignation to the will of God, His concern for His Holy Mother and for His Apostles, His gentleness, His humility, His patience, etc. Having considered all of this, it should follow that our sentiments are moved to a desire to imitate Him and to ask our Heavenly Father to conform us to His likeness. This same exercise can be performed with a spiritual book, a holy picture, or any other means which may serve to keep the desired image in our mind.

Mental Prayer
Finally, when we find ourselves unsuccessful in vocal or mental prayer, or the duties of our state in life limit our time for prayer, we can proceed to another type of mental prayer, which is made by way of ejaculations. There is not a person in the world who can be excused from this, as it can be made simultaneously with performing any of our daily duties, regardless of time and place. All we must do is recommend ourselves to God the first thing in the morning, tell Him that we desire never to offend Him, and then go about our daily duties resolved to continuously raise our spirits to God mentally, even amidst others. No one or nothing can prevent us from making these simple aspirations within our hearts, with the exception of ourselves.
Finally, it is important to note that all of this is of little use if we are not trying to live virtuous lives and to avoid the occasions of sin. We must do more than simply pray for those virtues necessary to our salvation. If we are to expect God to provide us with graces we ask and need, we must do our own part. If we have bad companions, we must rid ourselves of them. While it is true that we must love the sinner and hate the sin, St. Teresa of Avila admonishes us that there are few things more dangerous to a soul than bad companions. It is quite presumptuous and tempting God to remain in the company of these companions, thinking that we are strong enough to avoid falling into sin. We must, rather, surround ourselves with virtuous friends and companions. No friends at all are better than sinful ones.
Television and music are great weapons of the enemy, as they are vehicles for the spread of impurity and immorality. Moreover, noise is a great distraction and obstacle to prayer and contemplation. We cannot possibly reach a state of contemplation, nor can we meditate with their noise and distractions. Many will say that they are not tempted by the content from television and radio. How presumptuous this is! It is this very presumption that often causes man to fall. We must keep in mind that Our Lord is with us, and we subject Him to the very things that we watch and listen to! We would do well to rid ourselves completely of these temptations. However, for those who cannot do without them, great caution should be exercised in their use.
We must also continuously struggle against our passions and vices through prayer and mortification. This must not be put off until tomorrow, as we know not the day or the hour when we will be called to judgment. Each day, we must equip ourselves to do combat against ourselves and against the enemy. We must not cease to fight until our pilgrimage in this life is over. Since it is true that the devil preys easily on the passions of those who are idle, we should develop an horarium that will fit with our state in life, and we should hold ourselves accountable for adhering to it as best we can. Remember well that we will be required to make an account for every second of our life when we are called to judgment.
Finally, and extremely crucial to the spiritual life, is a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother of God. She is the mediatrix of all graces, a fountain of mercy, and our greatest Advocate before Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Those who have remained close to Our Lady, dating back to the Apostles, have persevered in faith. In the end times, it will be She Who will lead Christ’s army to wage battle against the enemy. We should consecrate ourselves to Her and willingly become Her slaves. She has asked that we recite the Rosary daily and has made great promises to those who do so faithfully. How simple it is to do this very little that She requests! Likewise, there are great promises attached to the five First Saturdays of Our Lady, and this is a great weapon for the spiritual life!
In this treacherous world we live in, the enemy has but one mission and that is the damnation of souls. It seems, when we look around, that there is little hope. However, we need only look at the Crucifix to see that there is great hope for those who love and fear God. We need only to persevere in faith and to carry our Cross next to that of Christ. Our greatest weapon in this battle is prayer. We must never cease to pray, and we must continually place all of our hope and trust in God, that we may one day be united to Him for all eternity.

IMPERATIVE INFORMATION - WHERE TO FIND TRADITIONAL SACRAMENTS
October 16, 2005 A.D.
(TCW)
Minneapolis - Oct 16- In Today's Catholic World (TCW) almost everday receives requests from True Catholics all
over the world requesting information on where to find the Traditional Sacraments from validly ordained priests that are not
part of the Rocallian Vatican II sect. (Note the Roncallian Vatican II Sect refers to Angelo Roncalli a.k.a antipope John XXIII who
usurped the chair of Peter in 1958 and ushered in the Vatican II anti-church which is now "headed" by antipope Benedict XVI).
I David Hobson, editor of (TCW) also own StGemma.com Web Productions, always list the following information on all of the
StGemma.com Web Production sites:
The True Church is arguably experiencing the worst suffering ever. If you are looking to attend the Tridentine Latin Mass
and receive the Traditional Sacraments in your area of the U.S or abroad, from unquestionably validly ordained Catholic
priests who are not in communion with (i.e. reject) the Modernist Vatican II sect holed up in Rome, and also reject
the "phony opposition" (i.e. peaceful coexistence groups) such as the schismatic SSPX etc. Contact the
webmaster at the email address provided for Mass times and/or more information.

"In thence days, Faith will fall very low, and it will be preserved in some places only, in a few cottages and in a few
families which God has protected from disasters and wars." -Prophetic Vision of Ven. Anna-Katrina Emmerick
(1774-1824 A.D.) Augustinian Nun, Stigmatist |
I have had the privilage to be in contact with independent priests across the world and also with a well known sedevacantist
Bishop (note there are some very good True Bishops I have not met) whose one desire and purpose is to get the Faithful the True Sacraments.
These true Catholic clerics have sacrificed all to preserve the True Faith and the True Mass. They should always be in our
prayers. Their actions will go down in history as critically important as we progress through this (The) Apostasy.
True Catholics should be encouraged to know that there is a good number of us out there and our ranks are growing daily. Our
Lady of Lasallete has encouraged us (i.e. The True non-compromising Catholics) to take our stand when she said:
"It is time they came out and filled the world with light. Go and reveal yourselves to be my cherished children. I am at
your side and within you, provided that your faith is the light which shines upon you in these unhappy days. ... Fight,
children of light, you, the few who can see. For now is the time of all times, the end of all ends."

Our Lady of Lasalette 1846 A.D.
“I make an urgent appeal to the earth. I call on the true disciples of
the living God who reigns in Heaven; I call on the true followers of Christ made man, the only true Saviour of men; I call on
my children, the true faithful, those who have given themselves to me so that I may lead them to my divine Son, those whom I
carry in my arms, so to speak, those who have lived on my spirit. Finally, I call on the Apostles of the Last Days, the
faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who have lived in scorn for the world and for themselves, in poverty and in humility, in
scorn and in silence, in prayer and in mortification, in chastity and in union with God, in suffering and unknown to the
world. It is time they came out and filled the world with light. Go and reveal yourselves to be my cherished children. I am
at your side and within you, provided that your faith is the light which shines upon you in these unhappy days. May your
zeal make you famished for the glory and the honour of Jesus Christ. Fight, children of light, you, the few who can see. For
now is the time of all times, the end of all ends." (-Words spoken by of Our Lady of LaSalette 1846 A.D.)

THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY- THE MOTHER OF MOTHERS
October 11, 2005 A.D.
(TCW)
Minneapolis - Oct 11- In Today's Catholic World (TCW) salutes the Blessed Virgin Mary today in recognition of Her Greatest Role -that of Mother. She alone was the fit dwelling place to contain Infinite Love Itself within Her chaste bosom. The Mother of God and the Mother of all True Catholics must be honored not by mere "lip service", but instead tenderly and constantly by ones every breath and inmost heart. She is Our Hope... She is the Mother of Mothers who never has and never will turn anyone away. Let us serve Her not out of lucre and tainted self-interest; but simply because She is most worthy and deserving to be served and loved!
De Maria Nunquam Satis
(Translation) With Mary There is Never Enough
Excerpts from the Traditional Breviary for the Feast of the Divine Motherhood of the BVM
His Mother was chosen a Virgin of the kingly lineage of David, and when she was to grow heavy with the sacred Child, her soul had already conceived him before her body. She learned the counsel of God announced to her by the Angel, lest the unwonted events should alarm her. The future Mother of God knew what was to be wrought in her by the Holy Ghost, and that her modesty was absolutely safe. For why should she, unto whom was promised all sufficient strength through the power of the Highest, have felt hopeless merely because of the unexampled character of such a conception? She believeth, and her belief is confirmed by the attestation of a miracle which hath already been wrought. The fruitfulness of Elizabeth, before unhoped for, is brought forward that she might not doubt that he who had given conception unto her that was barren, would give the same unto her that was Virgin. And so the Word of God, the Son of God, who was in the beginning with God, by whom all things were made, and without whom was not anything made that was made, to deliver man from eternal death, was made man.

Mother of Mothers
Our Lord Jesus Christ, descending from his throne in heaven, but leaving not that glory which he hath with the Father, cometh into this lower world by being born after a new order and in a new birth. He cometh after a new order, in that he who is unseen among his own, was seen among us; the Incomprehensible was fain to be comprehénded, and he that is from everlasting to everlasting began to be in time. He was the Offspring of a new birth; conceived of a maiden, without the passion of any fleshly father, without any breach of his Mother's virginity, since such a birth beseemed the coming Saviour of mankind, who was to have in him the nature of man's being, and to be free of any defilement of man's flesh. Though he sprung not as we spring, yet is his nature as our nature; we believe that he is free from the use and custom of men; but it was the power of God which wrought that a maiden should conceive, that a maiden should bring forth, and yet abide a maiden still.

Pope Pius XI Instituted the Feast of the Divine Motherhood of Mary in 1931 A.D.
In the year 1931, amid the applause of the whole Catholic world, solemn rites were celebrated to mark the completion of the fifteen centuries which had elapsed since the Council of Ephesus, moving against the Nestorian heresy, had acclaimed the blessed Virgin Mary, of whom Jesus was born, as Mother of God. This acclamation had been made by the Fathers of the Church under the leadership of Pope Celestine. Pius XI, as Supreme Pontiff, wished to commemorate the notable event and to give lasting proof of his devotion to Mary. Now there had existed for many years in Rome a grand memorial to the proclamation of Ephesus - the triumphal arch in the basilica of Saint Mary Major on the Esquiline Hill. This monument had already been adorned by a previous pontiff, Sixtus III, with mosaics of marvellous workmanship, now falling to pieces from the decay of the passing ages. Pius XI, therefore, out of his own munificence, caused these to be restored most exquisitely and with them the transept of the basilica. In an Encyclical Letter Pius set forth also the true history of the Council of Ephesus, and expounded fervently and at great length the doctrine of the prerogatives of the Blessed Virgin Mary as Mother of God. He did this that the doctrine of this lofty mystery might sink more deeply into the hearts of the faithful. In it he set forth Mary, the Mother of God, blessed among women, and the most holy Family of Nazareth as the exemplars to be followed above all others, as models of the dignity and holiness of chaste wedlock, as patterns of the holy education to be given youth. Finally that no liturgical detail be lacking, he decreed that the feast of the Divine Motherhood of the Blessed Virgin Mary be celebrated annually on the 11th day of October by the universal Church with a proper Mass and Office under the rite of a double of the second class.

FORMER BEATLE PAUL McCARTNEY PRAISES "POPE" REGARDING ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS
September 8, 2005
Story first reported on 09/08/05 by Contactmusic.com Ltd.
Reposted by (with commentary by TCW) on October 9, 2005 A.D.
Leeds, UK Oct. 9 - Animal-loving rocker SIR PAUL McCARTNEY has praised POPE BENEDICT XVI for reminding Catholics to be compassionate towards
animals.
Following his predecessor JOHN PAUL II's proclamation that animals have souls, Benedict has slammed the practice of factory
farming - and McCartney, who was raised a Catholic, is excited by the validation from such an influential source.
In an interview to celebrate People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals' (PETA) 25th anniversary, he says, "God bless him! I
think it would be fantastic if someone in his position who's able to reach so many people took a strong stance on that,
because one of PETA's strongest points, and one of mine, is compassion.
That certainly is a basic tenet of the Catholic religion. I think it would be terrific if he took a strong stance and urged
people to come out against that kind of thing."
TCW's Commentary on this Story:
The Beatles Hippie Mantra/Communist Cry of "You say you want a revolution" has most certainly occurred in what most people
mistakenly think today is the Roman Catholic Church. St. Athanasius explained it perfectly well, when during his time
(4th
Century) the enemies of The Faith like today, had criminally usurped Catholic Churches all over the
world to set up shop and exact tribute. The Holy St. Athanasius said: "They have the buildings, we have the Faith."
The Editor of (TCW) recalls hearing over "Vatican" Radio via online about 2 ½ years ago a "block" [i.e. about four full songs in a
row] of Beatle "medleys", (note: these were not Muzak versions, but The Beatles rock music right from their albums that was played on Vatican Radio)
which included the Lennon/McCartney ditty, I Am the Walrus, with its scandalous lyrics: (CAUTION! indecent words printed [below in blue font] from this Beatles song)
Yellow matter custard, dripping from a dead dog's eye.
Crabalocker fishwife, pornographic priestess,
Boy, you been a naughty girl you let your knickers down.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob. - Excerpt from the song, I am the Walrus, written by John Lennon and Paul
McCartney of the Beatles.
Again this type of trash was being played on "Vatican" Online Radio throughout the world. The point is "The Vatican" today
is not the Vatican of old... in fact: IT IS NOT THE VATICAN AT ALL! It is a group of revolutionaries who
have high-jacked (see: link) The Church's visible structures with their intended result being the mockery of Christ and the eternal
damnation of millions of His innocent followers.
St. Cyprian: "To adhere to a false Bishop of Rome [a false "pope"] is to be out of communion with the
Church."

Break-Dancing is 100% Sanctioned at the "Vatican", but not the Tridentine Latin Mass?
Jesus Christ, through His Holy Catholic Church, teaches that our eternal salvation depends upon our submission to the Roman Pontiff. (*See UNAM SANCTAM, Papal Bull of Pope Boniface VIII, promulgated November 18, 1302 A.D.) A Catholic who is indifferent as to whether (JP2) was a valid pope or not, and/or is indifferent as to whether (Ben16) is a valid pope or not, is no Catholic at
all. Rather he has the spirit of schism and of repudiation of authority. In the Great Western Schism, in which there were
three claimants to the papal throne, St. Vincent Ferrer condemned those who were indifferent as to who was the true
Pope.
"Wrong is wrong even if everybody is doing it, and right is right even
if nobody is doing it."

PRECISE ANSWER TO QUESTION - WHAT IS PAPAL INFALLIBILITY?
October 8, 2005 A.D.
(TCW)
Minneapolis Oct. 8 - The Editor of In Today's Catholic World (TCW) was recently asked by a person the following question:
"What is Papal Infallibility?"
So for this person and any others looking for the exact definition of this Sacred Catholic Dogma (Papal Infallibility) the Editor turns to Holy Mother Church and the Holy Vatican Council: 1869 - 1870 A.D. which provides the precise answer.

1838
But since in this very age, in which the salutary efficacy of the apostolic
duty is especially required, not a few are found who disparage its authority,
We deem it most necessary to assert solemnly the prerogative which the
Only-begotten Son of God deigned to enjoin with the highest pastoral office.
1839
And so We, adhering faithfully to the tradition received from the beginning of
the Christian faith, to the glory of God, our Saviour, the elevation of the
Catholic religion and the salvation of Christian peoples, with the approbation
of the sacred Council, teach and explain that the dogma has been divinely
revealed, that the Roman Pontiff, when he speaks ex cathedra, that is,
when carrying out the duty of the pastor and teacher of all Christians in
accord with his supreme apostolic authority he explains a doctrine of faith or
morals to be held by the universal Church, through the divine assistance
promised him in blessed Peter, operates with that infallibility with which
the divine Redeemer wished that His church be instructed in defining
doctrine on faith and morals; and so such definitions of the Roman Pontiff
himself, but not from the consensus of the Church,
ARE UNALTERABLE.
1840
[Canon]. But if anyone presumes to contradict this definition of Ours, which
may God forbid:  let him be anathema.

THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON ON EARTH - THE MOST HOLY ROSARY
October 7, 2005 A.D.
(TCW)
St. Louis Oct. 7 - Today is the Feast Day of The Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Padre Pio called the Rosary The Weapon! The True Church must use this weapon, during this time of travail where numerous souls are falling into Hell daily, while those remaining on earth for the most part (by their actions or in-action) have lost the purpose for living (to Glorify God) and are at best indifferent regarding the reality of man's final end i.e. Judgement with its unescapable verdict: Heaven or Hell.
As the usurper anti-popes have successfully lulled the majority of "Catholics" to sleep with their anti-Catholic & heretical "dogma" of universal salvation; NOW is the time for the Church Militant to pick up their beads and use "The Weapon" [The Rosary]... a weapon which is more powerful than all the bombs on earth, to secure their souls salvation and destroy once and for all the enemies of the True Catholic Church; with enemy #1 being the Roncallian Vatican II Sect.

Excerpts from the Traditional Breviary for Today's Feast of The Most Holy Rosary
When the heresy of the Albigenses was making head against God in the County of Toulouse, and striking deeper roots every day, the holy Dominic, who had but just laid the foundations of the Order of Friars Preachers, threw his whole strength into the travail of plucking these blasphemies up. That he might be fitter for the work, he cried for help with his whole soul to that Blessed Maiden, whose glory the falsehoods of the heretics so insolently assailed, and to whom it hath been granted to trample down every heresy throughout the whole earth. It is said that he had from her a word, bidding him preach up the saying of the Rosary among the people, as a strong help against heresy and sin, and it is wonderful with how stout an heart and how good a success he did the work laid upon him. This Rose-Garden, or Rosary, is a certain form of prayer, wherein we say one-hundred-and-fifty times the salutation of the Angel, and the Lord's Prayer between every ten times, and, each of the fifteen times that we say the Lord's Prayer, and repeat tenfold the salutation, think of one of fifteen great events in the history of our Redemption. From that time forth this form of godly prayer was extraordinarily spread about by holy Dominic, and waxed common. That this same Dominic was the founder and prime mover thereof hath been said by Popes in divers letters of the Apostolic See.
From this healthy exercise have grown up numberless good fruits in the Christian Commonwealth. Among these deserveth well to be named that great victory over the Sultan of Turkey, which the most holy Pope Pius V, and the Christian Princes whom he had roused, won at Lepanto. The day whereon this victory was gained was the very one whereon the Guild-brethren of the most holy Rosary, throughout the whole world, were used to offer their accustomed prayers and appointed supplications, and the event therefore was not unnaturally connected therewith. This being the avowed opinion of Gregory XIII, he ordered that in all Churches where there was, or should be, an Altar of the Rosary, a Feast, in the form of a Greater Double, should be kept for ever, to give unceasing thanks to the Blessed Virgin, under her style of Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, for that extraordinary mercy of God. Other Popes also have granted almost numberless Indulgences to those who say the Rosary, and to those who join its Guilds.

The Great Catholic Victory over the Infidel Muslims
In the year 1716, Charles VI, Elect-Emperor of the Romans, won a famous victory over countless hordes of Turks, in the kingdom of Hungary, upon the day when the Feast of the Dedication of St. Mary of the Snows was being kept, and almost at the very moment when the Guild-brethren of the most holy Rosary were moving through the streets of Rome in public and solemn procession, amid vast multitudes, all filled with the deepest enthusiasm, calling vehemently upon God for the defeat of the Turks, and entreating the Virgin Mother of God to bring the might of her succour to the help of the Christians. A few days later, the Turks raised the siege of Corfu. These mercies Clement XI devoutly ascribed to the helpful prayers of the Blessed Virgin, and that the memory and the sweetness of such a blessing might for all time coming endure gloriously, he extended to the whole Church the observance of the Feast of the most holy Rosary, for the same day and of the same rank, Benedict XIII commanded the record of all these things to be given a place in the Service-book of the Church of Rome ; and Leo XIII, in the most troublous times of the Church and the cruel storm of long pressing evils, by fresh Apostolic letters vehemently urged upon all the faithful throughout the earth the often saying of the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, raised the dignity of the yearly festival, added to the Litany of Loretto the Invocation Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and granted to the whole Church a special Office for this solemn occasion. Let us all then be earnest in honouring the most holy Mother of God in this form which she liketh so well, that even as the entreaties of Christ's faithful people, approaching her in her Garden of Roses, have so often won her to scatter and destroy their earthly foes, so she may gain for them the victory over their hellish foes likewise.

Our Lady of Fatima Promises all the Graces Necessary for Heaven
if a Catholic Finishes the Five First Saturdays Devotion
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE FIVE FIRST SATURDAY FATIMA DEVOTION
October 1, 2005
(TCW)
Minneapolis Oct. 1 - Our Lady of Fatima has promised all the graces necessary for heaven if a Catholic finishes the Five First Saturdays Devotion. The Editor of TCW's was able to complete the Five First Saturday Devotion earlier this year. His communions were received from a True Catholic priest's Latin Mass, who of course is not part of the Vatican II Sect. Upon completing the exact requirements of this holy devotion as requested by Our Lady of Fatima, the Editor of (TCW) had a peace that words simply can not describe... yet still remembers that, although St. Gertrude the Great had been told by Our Lord that she was guaranteed Heaven, St. Gertrude redoubled her prayers everyday for the greatest grace of all: Final Perseverance. Without delving too much into the mystery here, one is reminded that St. Thomas Aquinas teaches that prayer helps to secure predestination... in other words Catholics must do good works to earn their salvation in fear and trembling, and never grow lax.
Nothing is more important than our final end. Time is short, eternity is forever. Today is a First Saturday, hence In Today's Catholic World (TCW) is printing for the Glory of Mary and the betterment of souls...
